The holiday cottage is a very short walk from the cobbled market place of Thirsk, where twice weekly markets take place throughout the year, from a wide range of shops, tea rooms and restaurants, and with its own private parking bay, it is an ideal base for touring: the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the historic city of York, all of which are just a short drive away.
The North Yorkshire town of Thirsk, is also where James Herriot lived and worked, and the museam is just a 5 minute walk from Cowper Cottage.
